Zeximed 100mg Tablet DT works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which is essential for their survival. This action stops the bacteria from multiplying and eventually leads to their death.

Scientifically, Cefixime binds to penicillin-binding proteins located inside the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell walls. This results in the weakening of the cell wall and leads to cell lysis and death.
