Zstop O 500mg/200mg Tablet works by combining the effects of two medications. Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme necessary for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. This action stops the growth and multiplication of bacteria.

Nitazoxanide interferes with the pyruvate:ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PFOR) enzyme-dependent electron transfer reaction, which is essential for the anaerobic energy metabolism of protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. This disrupts the energy metabolism of the pathogens, leading to their death.
